Expertise

Our experts are involved in the realisation of biodiesel plants, ethanol production plants, biogas plants, biomass incineration plants and combinations of these and other energy technologies. In addition, we draw expertise from a wide network of partners, providing up to date knowledge, including biomass production (e.g. rape seed, corn, wood) and biomass pelletising. Together, we are your experts for the production, combustion and quality control of solid, liquid and gaseous biobased products.

Biomass R&D: Fermentation research

Our biomass R&D fermentation experts are active in the field of industrial (food) microbiology and biotechnology. We offer research related to fermentation processes that aims for solutions that contribute to development or improvement of the whole process. Projects may consist of feasibility studies or proof of principle experiments, but can also involve optimization, change in design of equipment or scaling up to (pilot) production processes.

Biomass R&D: Conceptual design

Even when a pilot plant has been successful, it usually is still a big step towards a full scale production plant. For all situations, specs are to be determined by analysis of the local situation. Usually, before making an official offer for a production facility, a conceptual design study (including an analysis of the project details) needs to be in place. The goal of this study is to make a full assessment of the project (technology, logistic, finance) in order to facilitate the development and the implementation of this project. The conceptual design also provides you also with all details needed for financing the project.
